First and foremost, all of us at The News hope that all of you reading this came through Hurricane Ian healthy and safe. Our News team fared well, considering. A few trees and power lines down, loss of power, and the general inconveniences of temporarily losing modern conveniences. Our friends and colleagues to the south took a much harder hit. Our thoughts are with them. The News is encouraging anyone who is able to donate to your favorite relief organization. SCC was built on neighbors helping neighbors. We’re a GENEROUS community, which is something we see in EVERY issue of The News. The more we give, the better and faster those folks will be able to rebuild. And, if YOU are in need, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We will do our best to connect you to help.

In this issue…

The Long Range Planning Committee wants to hear from you, attend a Very Special Tea Party, go Trail Blazing, find out where to get your flu shot, save the date for “Hi, Neighbor!,” get to know some local military families who serve in and out of uniform, connect with the Family Resource Center, be inspired by the Strong Dogs, offer a heartfelt farewell to an outstanding member of our News team, explore some Cigar City history and culture, view Rodin’s great works, meet some Kindred Spirits, have some “Naughty” fun with the Pelican Players, and find out when and where to get out and vote!

Then be sure to check out the SCCCA Club News, Kings Point News, Military News, Sports, Arts, Faith & Service, and Community News sections to help you plan your month.
